Holiday cottages to rent for New Year

Thoughts of sparkling New Year parties and the chance to celebrate with family and friends entice people to book those large houses and big cottages for their celebrations.  A large self-catering accommodation is wonderful in allowing people to enjoy each other’s company under one roof for a few days with complete privacy. The accommodation is the responsibility of whoever books it and pays the bill.

The idea of being able to host a New Year party, to buy in plenty of alcohol and good food at cost,  and not pay extra for hired help is attractive. It would be impossible to hold a similar party in a hotel for the same cost, staff, corkage and menu prices would multiply the bill.

Many really large self-catering houses are set in their own big gardens in rural areas where noise is not an issue. These always have acres of parking space for all guests and few worries about bothering the neighbours.

Some people want to book accommodation for three nights only; the usual minimum period for self-catering lettings. For enormous group accommodation it may be possible to book a property for a mere two nights.  Bear in mind that any party will require a certain amount of preparation and organisation. Guests need to settle in and rest before they assist, especially if they have travelled a long way. It is advisable to rent any such large property for at least 3 or four days for a New Year break. The dates from which the properties can be rented vary from the 28th-30th of December.

The expectation on departure is that any party debris will have been cleared up and the house left in a tidy condition. Self-catering properties are always thoroughly cleaned between lettings but this does not include washing dishes or the collection of discarded champagne bottles.  Excessive soiling could incur extra charges.

Most of us live in such small houses that it would not be possible to invite a crowd for New Year, hence the desirability of self-catering accommodation. Should you feel inspired to host a New Year party next year, do book as far ahead as possible. The best properties, often those with a swimming pool, hot tub and games room are snapped up by the end of January.
