Coronavirus Outbreak in the UK

Following the first national lockdown which was announced on 23/3/20 and ended on 10/5/20, travel restrictions were then eased for UK residents with social distancing rules still in effect.

After the first lockdown, the UK government took a regional tiered approach to managing the coronavirus outbreak with local lockdowns occurring from time to time, mainly affecting large UK cities.

Firebreak lockdowns were recently announced though in an attempt to control coronavirus spread in October/November 2020.

The Short Firebreak Lockdowns announced include:

•    Wales' lockdown is due to run from 23 October to 9 November.  Cottage holidays are not permitted in Wales during this time.

•    Ireland 6 week firebreak lockdown runs from 21 October to 1 December.

•    Northern Ireland 4 week lockdown runs from 16th October to 13th of November.  Only essential travel is allowed during this period.

•    England's second national lockdown runs from 5 November 2020 until the 2 December 2020 and cottage holidays are not permitted during this time.

Because of the coronavirus outbreak, it’s highly recommended that you speak to cottage owners and agencies before booking to discuss booking conditions and it’s also strongly recommended that you take out appropriate holiday insurance.
