Is it Safe to Book Holiday Homes Direct?

How to Stay Safe When Booking Direct

When booking direct, the biggest risks are if the owner does not keep their email secure and it is compromised, or where there is a fake cottage entry.

The websites under the XE Website Solutions Ltd umbrella work hard to ensure that there are only genuine listings on the site.  Having operated for 26 years we can proudly say we have never allowed a fake listing on our sites.

Most of the owners listing with us have done so for a number of years and are long standing trusted owners, helping to ensure the sites are safe.  We have security checks we do before allowing any new properties on to the sites.

In order to stay safe when booking we have helpful information on our sites which includes:

• Always speak to the owner direct before completing your booking – phone numbers are given on ads.

• Never make payment to foreign bank accounts.  Most UK banks offer a payee name match check service nowadays where you can check the bank details match the company you want to pay to book your accommodation.

• Many owners now have their own online booking option on their own websites where you can pay by credit card for more payment protection.

• If in doubt, reach out to us for help and support.
