Email cottage booking scam Micheal Paul

Another version of the booking scam

The message in the orginal email stated:

"Good Day Mr & Mrs , Am Micheal Paul from state, I'll like to know if your property is available from Checking Date : 1 Nov 2010 Checkout Date 7 Nov 2010 Two people only. Looking forward to head your good news. Thanks Sent via DROID on Verizon Wireless"

Please note poor use of the English language which could be your first reason to suspect this. 

When the cottage owners replied with their availability and costs, this scammer went on to ask for a payment that would entail money back. This is always the key. Never ever take a payment for much larger than your cottage rental. Their foreign payment will bounce and you will be left out of pocket.

    Concerning the payment arrangement,i am assuring you that won't be a problem as our company associate in state would be paying for our holiday and i had already spoke with him about holiday and he said that won't be any problem that we should let him know when everything is set so that he can issue you the payment.
 
    The payment that you would be receiving will be in excess payment our BTA fee will be include with the rental fee basic on trust, As soon as you get the UK Check you will get it deposited in your bank for clearance and after the money has been cleared into your account,you would deduct the rental payment and send the remaining balance,which would be for our flight expenses,BTA (Basic Travelers Allowance) and some other necessary paperwork's. The balance should be sent to our traveling agent whose information i would give to you as soon as you receive payment.
